Our vision is to nurture a sense of responsibility and custodianship towards the ocean within the coastal communities of Mozambique – as well as to empower them to be the necessary agents of change in their communities.
We believe that by investing in the children, we are investing in the future of our society.
Our locally trained Turn-the-Tide Instructors take groups of school children from the Inhaca communities through an 8 week ocean education programme - where they learn about understanding and being mindful about both themselves and of others as well as of their ocean and coastal environment.

Our locally trained Turn-the-Tide Instructors take groups of school children from the Inhaca communities through an 8 week ocean education programme - where they learn about understanding and being mindful about both themselves and of others as well as of their ocean and coastal environment.
Our children learn swimming skills and about reading the ocean and basic water safety.
We work closely with communities to understand their needs and create sustainable solutions.
We have currently trained up 21 young adults from Inhaca as Turn-the-Tide Ocean Therapy Instructors, 5 of which we employ full time and another 8 act as reserves to fill in for an absent instructor and to assist with larger events.
150 local children from the Inhaca High School (ages 11 - 15) have completed their Turn-the-Tide programmes

Inhaca Ocean Alliance has become a presence on Inhaca Island and is starting to be consulted by local and investing businesses for sustainable input into future projects.
